Dibi Tech vs Sparrow SMS for WhatsApp Business API in Nepal
Both are Nepali and both bill in rupees. The differences are what each one publishes, and the fact that Sparrow SMS also sells SMS and we do not.
Dibi Tech Private Limited and Sparrow SMS both offer the WhatsApp Business API to businesses in Nepal, and both bill in Nepali rupees. The practical differences are transparency and scope: Dibi Tech publishes every per-message rate and its Meta credential; Sparrow SMS quotes per customer and also sells SMS, which we do not.
Everything below about Sparrow SMS was read off their own website on 13 September 2026. Where they publish nothing, this page says "Not published" rather than filling the gap.

Where Sparrow SMS is the better choice
If you already send SMS in Nepal, or expect to, Sparrow SMS gives you SMS and WhatsApp from one supplier on one contract. That is a real operational saving — one relationship, one invoice, one support queue — and we cannot match it, because we do not sell SMS at all. For a business whose messaging is mostly OTPs and alerts with WhatsApp as a secondary channel, that alone is a good enough reason to choose them.
Their argument against publishing a rate card is also a fair one, and worth reading on their own page rather than in our summary of it: Meta revises rates several times a year, and rates differ by destination country, so a single headline number can mislead.
Where Dibi Tech is the better choice
You can work out your cost before you talk to anyone. We publish Meta's Nepal rate for every message category in rupees, the monthly platform fee for every tier, and a worked example. If you are building a budget or comparing quotes, you can do the arithmetic today instead of waiting for a sales call.
The Meta credential is stated with a number attached. Our credential page names the Meta programme, the business portfolio ID and the date verification was approved, and tells you how to check any provider the same way. As at 13 September 2026 Sparrow SMS publishes no Meta programme claim at all, which is not a mark against them — it simply means you have to ask.
You bill Meta directly by default. Your WhatsApp Business Account carries your own payment method, so Meta charges you its own rate and we earn nothing on your traffic. We have not been able to establish which arrangement Sparrow SMS uses, because they do not publish it.
What "volume-based pricing" means when you are comparing quotes
Quoting per customer rather than publishing a rate card is a normal and defensible way to sell messaging, and Sparrow SMS explain their reasoning for it on their own pricing page. But it does put the work of comparison onto you, so it is worth knowing what to insist on when the quote arrives.
- A rate per message category, not an average. Marketing, utility and authentication messages cost very different amounts. A single blended figure hides which of them you are actually being charged more for, and your real bill depends on your mix.
- The rate for Nepali numbers specifically. Meta prices by the recipient's country, not the sender's. A quote that does not say which country it applies to is not a quote you can compare.
- What happens when Meta changes its rates. Meta revises them several times a year, and one revision lands on 1 October 2026. Ask whether your rate moves with Meta's, is fixed for a term, or is re-quoted at renewal.
- Whether the volume tier resets. If the price depends on hitting a monthly volume, ask what you pay in a quiet month.
Whatever you are quoted, you can measure it against Meta's own published Nepal rates on our NPR pricing page. The gap between the two is the margin you are being asked to pay, and knowing it is not an argument for refusing to pay it — a provider carrying the Meta billing, the credit risk and the support is entitled to earn something. It is an argument for knowing what you are buying.
Can you move later?
Yes, provided one thing is true: your own business owns the WhatsApp Business Account. If it does, moving provider means granting a new provider access and removing the old one. Your number, your approved templates, your quality rating and your conversation history with Meta all stay where they are.
If the provider owns the WABA, none of that travels. You start again with a new number or a lengthy release process, resubmit every template for Meta approval, and rebuild your quality rating from scratch. That is the difference between a supplier you can change your mind about and one you cannot, and it is settled on the day you are onboarded rather than the day you want to leave.
Dibi Tech onboards you into your own business portfolio through Meta's Embedded Signup. As at 13 September 2026 Sparrow SMS does not publish which arrangement it uses, so ask — and get the answer in writing before you sign.
Which to choose
Choose Sparrow SMS if SMS is a real part of your messaging and you want one supplier for both channels, or if you would rather have a negotiated quote than a published rate card.
Choose Dibi Tech if you want to know your cost before you speak to anyone, if you want Meta to bill you directly so there is no margin on your traffic at all, or if you want a Meta credential you can check rather than take on trust.
What to ask both of us
- Will my business own the WhatsApp Business Account, or will you?
- Who does Meta invoice for my messages — me or you?
- Which Meta programme are you on, and what is your business portfolio ID?
- What is the per-message rate for marketing, utility and authentication to a Nepali number, in rupees, today?
Any provider worth signing with can answer all four in one email.

Where these facts come from
Every statement about another provider on this page was read off that provider's own website on 13 September 2026. Where a provider does not publish something, this page says "Not published" rather than guessing. If we have got something wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
messaggio.com did not respond when we visited it on 13 September 2026, so nothing is recorded against Messaggio here rather than something unverified.
